[edit] What You Need to Know About Ticket Requests?
--Grace 20:09, 27 July 2007 (CST)
ããBy requesting tickets, you are subject to CoSport terms and conditions of sale.
ããYou have until mid-July to submit your ticket request.
ããOnce submitted, your ticket request is FINAL and cannot be modified. You are allowed to request up to eight 8 tickets per session for a total of forty-eight (48) event tickets per order.
ããThere is a quantity limitation for Opening and Closing Ceremony tickets. Customers may only submit a request for two (2) tickets per Ceremony per cumulative Ticket Request.
ããYou will have 45 minutes to complete your request.
ããIf you request an Opening and/or Closing Ceremony, you will be required to submit a photo, as only the person themselves is allowed to enter the stadium. CoSport will provide you with photo submission information at a later date.
ããWhen choosing events, you should make sure there is no overlap in time, and allow three (3) hours between events on the same day, keeping in mind travel time between venues and any other unforeseen delays.
ããCredit Card Payments: While we require credit card information at the time of checkout, you will not be charged now. If we can fulfill more than 40% of your order at the time of ticket request confirmation (timeline below), we will do so without further communication, and you will only be charged for the tickets we were able to allocate to you. If we cannot fulfill 40% or less of your Ticket Request, you will be given the option to proceed with the allocation or cancel.
ããIn order to confirm your credit card(s), we will authorize a charge for USD $1 to your account. This charge will only authorize that your credit card(s) is active and valid. The actual charge will not be processed and will be removed from your account within 72 hrs. All charges will be illustrated in USD$. If your credit card(s) is declined your Ticket Request will automatically be cancelled without notice of any kind.
ããFor countries where other methods of payment are accepted, you will be contacted via e-mail when your ticket allocation is complete with payment instructions. Payment must be received within the time frame specified or your Ticket Request will be cancelled.
ããAt this point all ticket requests are received on an equal standing. There is no priority standing at this point, no ranking system for requests, nor is there a lottery in place to determine tickets distribution. Based on the timeline below, if, when we begin our ticket allocation process, we are over subscribed for an event ticket, we base our selection upon a proprietary algorithm to ensure complete objectivity and fairness to our process.
ããPrice Category means the assigned ticket price corresponding to a designated seating location for a particular session at an Olympic Venue. Price categories range from A â C. Category A is considered by the Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad (BOCOG) to be most expensive seating option, with Category B being next and finally, Category C.
ããWithin a Price Category, seats are assigned, with the following exceptions:
ããThere will be three types of venue configurations (we currently do not know the venues that this will apply to):
ããReserved seating: each ticket will have an exact seat location
ããGeneral admission: ticket admission; no specific seating
ããGeneral admission: by Section/Stand: ticket admission for different stands of a session
ããSeveral venues are not in the city-center of Beijing, so please keep this in mind when selecting events. These venues include: Qingdao International Marina (Sailing); Hong Kong Equestrian Venues (Equestrian); Tianjin Olympic Center Stadium (Football/Soccer); Shanghai Stadium (Football/Soccer); Shenyang Olympic Sports Center Stadium (Football/Soccer); Qinhuangdao Olympic Sports Center Stadium (Football/Soccer). Some important ticket information that you should be aware of:
Prices for Menâs and Womenâs Marathon have not yet been determined
Cycling â Road is a non-ticketed event
The individual ticket request timeline is as follows:
April 16, 2007
Ticket Request Phase starts (no payments collected, credit card(s) authorized)
Mid-July 2007: Ticket Request Phase ends
Mid-July 2007 â Mid-September 2007: Ticket Allocation and Confirmation Phase
ããMid-September 2007: Live Ticket Sales commence
ããIf at any point you have any questions, please call the CoSport office in your specific country as indicated on the âContact Usâ page.
ããChildren under two years of age do not require a ticket to enter a venue, however, they must sit on the lap of their guardian
ããChina shuts fake Olympics site
ããMake sure you know where to get your real Beijing 2008 tickets!!! Most likely through your National Olympic Committee.
ããDonât get caught up with fake tickets in an illegal outlet.
ããCHINESE police have arrested three men for setting up a fake Olympic Games ticket web site, the official Xinhua agency has reported.
ããOnly 10 people have tried to buy tickets through the site operated from south-eastern Fujian province since March, police said.
ããBeijing began taking orders for tickets for next yearâs Games last Sunday, promising âvery affordableâ tickets and strong security, with group or block bookings banned.
ããPrices range from 30 yuan ($4.20) for preliminary shooting events up to 5,000 yuan for the opening ceremony on August 8, 2008. Delivery will only begin in June 2008.
